Sleep

Dummy falls out all night!

Hi,

We use a dummy with our 9 month old.

We use only at sleep time, but of late it's proving a bit of a nightmare as she is waking up frequently crying because it's fallen out. She is easily settled, we just pop the dummy back in. However within the hour it's fallen out and she is crying again.

Amy suggestions please?

I think these things are a phase and it shouldn’t be too long before she can find it herself. Could you get one of those toys that holds a dummy? Or have a few in the cot that she can reach?

There’s a sleep regression between 8-10 months so that could be at play too (we’ve just come through it).
You can get a comforter called Sleepytot - you put a few dummies in the designated spots so baby has access to them all and can pop them back in themselves. A few of my friends swear by them (I have a dummy refuser so no personal experience!)

Thank you both. Def feels like there is sleep regression going on, she's super disturbed.

Will check out a sleepy tot...thanks Smile

With our 2, we needed to put 5 or 6 dummies in the cot....doesn't get rid of the wakeups entirely but reduced them well

I sewed a ribbon into the chest of all of my sleeping bags. Press stud at the end. Long enough to just reach each ear.
