Life after naps

My DS has recently stopped napping we think, or rather we did because otherwise bedtime was a two hour long nightmare, and just wondering what people do all afternoon once the naps stop!

You just do the same sorts of things you do in the mornings?!

Playgroup, swimming, park, dog walk, watch tv, play at home, go grocery shopping, do housework etc, etc.

Mine have all been at preschool by the time naps drop, so having 5 mornings a week at nursery school. Therefore getting our afternoons back once the nap is dropped is quite freeing and liberating, enabling us to do stuff again.

As a comparison, my nearly 3 year old starts preschool in January. She'll be at nursery 8.45-12.15, then dinner and sleeping 1pm-3pm when her siblings get home from school. So no time for just the two of us at all. I'm therefore looking forward to getting that time back when she stops napping.

Cheers! My DS is only just two and we had such a strong routine of morning activities then nap then time at home playing. Now the playing at home makes it a very long afternoon! Might try staying out a bit later and going to the library or park or something. Or days out! I'm just running out of ideas what with the winter coming up.
