Rolling over in sleep at 3 months

My DS2 has just turned 3 months and is now able to roll from back to tummy. However, he can't go from tummy to his back. I feel he is very young to be able to do this and I worry that he may try it in the night and end up face down in his bed without me knowing. Anyone else ever dealt with a baby rolling so young?!

My DS did this! He was just slightly over three months. In all honesty I'm probably not the best person to give advice though because he has always slept on his side. When he was that little and unable to roll from tummy to back, I used to put him to bed spooning his bunny. If he did try to roll then bunny would stop him being flat on his face if that makes sense?

My 4 children were all rolling both ways by 4 months old, started rolling one way about a month earlier - I thought this was normal?

Anyway, yes, it's time to start considering rolling in the night. It happens. You should always put baby down to sleep on their back but may roll over. Being able to roll one way only is a short phase, baby should be able to roll both ways soon.

All the normal safety things - clear cot, no pillow or loose blankets, firm flat mattress.
