Infant sleep and the five stages of grief

Whilst waiting for DD to fall asleep I was pondering how I go through the five stages of grief when she refuses to nap (despite being v tired)...

Denial - she'll be asleep soon, that wasn't her I just heard coo from the bedroom
Anger - FFS go to sleep! You need a nap, you're shattered!!!
Bargaining - if you sleep well you'll have lots of energy to play with your toys and jumperoo etc.
Depression - FML you aren't going to sleep are you?
Acceptance - (takes baby out of cot and sighs loudly)

Yes because having a healthy happy baby and being utterly exhausted is exactly like being devastated by grief Hmm

It's just a parallel that the OP has noticed Confused

DD was a terrible sleeper and DS (autistic) didn't sleep longer than two hours for eight years. Eight. Years.

It's the sort of thing I might have posted in those days.

Sorry probably very over sensitive at the moment, grief related.
I can however sympathise with a baby who won't sleep I had/have 3 of them.

op Grin I remember those stages! There's also the additional one where you cry from exhaustion while the baby watches you.
