Bed time for 10 week old

Just out of interest, what time would you expect a 10 week old to go down for the night and what time would you have the last nap of the day before this?
Pulling my hair out as my little one pings his eyes open after 40 mins into his bedtime. I fear I'm putting him to bed too early and this is the reason...
all advice welcome!!

Oh 10 weeks I would still be following baby's routine, just letting then sleep and wake and feed as needed.

At that age dd was still fully in control. She would have a bottle at 6 and then a bath, would play or want cuddles til bottle at 10-11 and then she would sleep for 4-6 hours and then feed again. If I was lucky she would go back down and if not we were up for the day

At 10 weeks I'd expect about 1h awake time betwebetween one nap and the next all through the daytime.

At any awake time that happens between 7pm and 9pm I'd "do bedtime". So bath, change into night clothes etc. Then baby would come back downstairs to continue the sleep-feed-awake-sleep cycles until I go to bed.

You should be aware, in case you weren't, that baby should not be put to sleep in a room you are not in until 6 months old. That is not just at night time, it includes daytime sleeps and evening sleeps. Baby should always be in the same room you are when asleep. So if you are downstairs until 10pm, so should baby (napping of course, but in the same room as you)

Ds didn't have a bedtime till he was about six months.... at 10 weeks I went to bed when he had a full belly and was asleep at night. This could be anywhere between 9-11. He was sleeping through by then but I would wait till he fell asleep at night before taking him to bed. He didn't fall asleep on his own too well at that age - he liked to be in the room with us.

At 10 weeks I wouldn't have a bed time at all.

Awake every 4h to feed at that age.

As long as baby is gaining weight well and plenty of wet and dirty nappies they don't need to be fed every 4 hours just fed on demand, my LO is 10 weeks and she tends to have one last feed somewhere between 8pm and 10pm and then will sleep till about 5/6am. We've just recently started a bed time routine of bath (every other night), massage, pyjamas, feed and then bed and this seems to help! Ofc at that age she does sometimes wake up during the night for a feed!x

Interesting most people don't have a set bedtime. With my first it worked wonders and he was sleeping 8 hour stretches at this point.
My second is proving to be more difficult to nap and settle generally. He generally goes down between 7 and 9 but always wakes 30 mins after going down?! He is then up every 3-4 hours in the night. Was hoping there might have been some longer stretches by now Confused

I wouldn't expect a 10 week old to be sleeping for longer than 3-4 hours without feeding. I think it's all a bit more fluid at that age.0

My 12 week old goes down around 7pm (bath starts any time from 6 to 6.30). We started doing it when she was around 8 weeks as we were spending our evenings with a screaming baby in the living room which was a combo of colic and over stimulation I reckon. Initially she'd only sleep 30/40 mins but we'd persist with lying next to her/patting/dummy and slowly that's got longer. The last 4 nights she's gone down at 7pm and not woken until first feed at around 2am. We had my DS down at 7pm from 6 weeks old and it was very similar. We have a monitor next to us in the living room.

Ds2 is 15 wks and goes to sleep for the night around 8pm ish. Somewhere between 8-9. This is just how he is though, nothing I've done has caused it I don't think. He's been doing it since he was very small. He sleeps in the living room then I take him upstairs when I go. He sleeps til anywhere between 1 and 4.

Ds1was still waking every hour at this age
