Summer blanket?

Is there even such a thing?

My Little boy suffers with excema and scratches alot while sleeping. Tucking him in tightly with a blanket prevents him from doing it for some reason, even though he can still free his arms if he wanted. I think it just gives him the feeling of being held which he finds comforting and for some reason he doesn't scratch.

He can take mittens off within seconds.

He's starting to overheat with the blanket on his bed, even if I put him in just a nappy and wakes regularly through the night as a result.

My question is, are there blankets you can buy that are really really thin and airy but still will tuck in nicely?

I've tried cellular a blanket already and it's like wrapping him in cardboard. I've washed it a few times but its still so rough.

Anyone have any tips for a decent blanket I can buy him where he won't overheat?

Could you just use a sheet?

Lol, great minds!!

We sleep under an old flannelette sheet (spelt??) in the summer - it's cool but cosy at the same time! I think they are called 'brushed cotton' these days.

How old is he? You could consider a baby sleeping bag.

AlbusPercival · 24/05/2017 20:53

Or a swaddle muslin

Newtothis11 · 24/05/2017 20:55

You can get XL muslin that would be lovely and cool

I was going to suggest an extra large muslin as well.
