Hi just looking for advice my almost 19 week old DD hasn't been sleeping well a while back she would fall asleep on her own in the bouncy chair or in her pram. Now she won't nap on her own the only way is to walk around with her or the car seat or feed to sleep they still work but she won't sleep longer than 45mins for a nap. she's all over the place, she cries when she put in her buggy, won't sleep there and stops as soon as I pick her up, I have tried her in the sling and she can settle sometimes but yesterday she only slept 30 minutes and that was on me even on me! we have tried bedsharing some nights but she still wakes constantly sometimes it can be 10 minutes sometimes 30 sometimes an hour but she will not sleep longer than 2 hours. She's very restless and fidgety and sometimes just cries with her eyes shut she tries to settle back to sleep but it's like she can't fall asleep I am EBF she won't take a dummy or a bottle I have no idea what could be wrong with her she just won't sleep Hmm

Daytime naps of 30-45 minutes are usual through this stage. Don't stress about this, it's what most babies do. Just keep the naos frequent to avoid over tiredness. Awake time between one nap and the next should be around 60-90 minutes.

Ok thank you! I've been reading that they should have 1 hour+ for a nap but I know every baby's different she does seem more cranky after naps just now so will reduce awake time and see how we get on

It's probably the 4 month sleep regression. Look it up and it will hopefully make you feel better to know that it's pretty normal and should pass with time! I thought I'd gotten away with my DD not being affected but now at 5.5months she seems to have taken a massive step back in her sleeping abilities. I'm waiting it out and hoping it will pass. She is learning to roll and sit up and all sorts at the moment and apparently these new developmental skills can cause temporary sleep problems, feeding problems etc

I have been reading about this actually does sound very similar, she is trying to roll over and has found her feet recently so this could be reasons aswell hopefully it's a phase and soon passes with your little one Smile
