How much sleep do you get?

Hi! I have two beautiful daughters ( 3month old called Sophie and a 3 year old called Scarlet)
I am wondering how much sleep you ladies get? Over the years my sleep pattern has fluctuated, Scarlet was always such a good sleeper and we rarely had trouble with her but now she has the case of monsters under the bed!
Along with her and Sophie waking a few times a night for feeding I am exhausted and just wondering if anyone else has similar issues and how long you (and your children) sleep for!
Thankyou! Grin

I reckon between 4 and 6 hours a night. Last night it was 4 max as that's all the time I spent in my bed Shock
I have 5.5 month old twins and except for a couple of weeks at the start of Feb when they both slept quite well I'd say it's been the case since they were born. I'd love 6 straight hours that would be heaven! Had that once in the past 2 months! I was in pure shock when I woke up and it was 351 that night!
How much do you get?

I'd say I generally get around the same, I've been trying to avoid looking at the clock recently haha
Some nights are especially bad and neither will sleep, meaning I only get around 2.5/3 hours.. I really feel that the next day!

Last night was a good one! One 5 hour block, and one 90 minute block after a feed. The night before though was horrific. 40 minute to 1 hour mini sleeps for both of us through the night :(

Seriously when do "most" babies sleep reliably all night? 10 months? A year? Most folk I know say 7/8 months but I can't see such a huge improvement by the happening!

That's a very good point! Even at 3 my daughter is still waking up in the night (though her sister's cries probably doesn't help). I wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one that was suffering haha I'm the first of my friends to have children so there's no consulting there and family give the "that's children for you dear" reply!

I reckon I'm getting anywhere between 4-6 hours. Having a bit of nightmare with my sons sleeping pattern at the minute. Waking during the night at least twice now. He used to be a brilliant sleeper, he turned 1 and my solid 12 hours sleeping baby went away!!! It's so hard when you are back at work as well

I have a just turned 2 year old and a 4 month old.

I would say I get 6 broken hours with the baby feeding every 2 hours (sometimes every hour!). Fortunately the 2 year old now sleeps through without a peep but she's up at 6:30 and tends to wake the baby who would probably sleep until 8 otherwise!

My DS is going through regression and teething. Last night I got 2.5 hours. Until about 5 weeks ago I was getting 9 a night! I'm back to the place I was in before and sleep deprivation is well and truly back. Can't even remember my name most days! 😫

I'd say about 5 hours in dribs and drabs and then a rescue 45 mins in the morning when DH takes the baby.

It was a lot less in the early days but she's nearly 9 months now so she's only waking, oh, every 2 hours or soShock

DH looks after our 3 year old at night- she'll sleep through 50% of the time but have 1 or 2 briefs wakes other nights.

I think broken nights are the norm for a long while really; they just (hopefully!) get broken for shorter periods, less frequently, over time.

My CM assures me that by the time they're comatose teenagers I will have utterly lost the ability to sleep past 6am myself. How's that for irony!

My dd has just turned 3 and she's never been the best sleeper. She goes to bed perfectly and stays out she is just a disturbed sleeper. She will wake us pretty much every night between 2-3am by just shouting out or crying in her sleep we sometimes can ignore it or have to go in but she is always asleep whilst doing so. So we get about a block of 4 hours max. I am expecting our 2nd in 10 weeks and am going to have to cope with being disturbed by both children!

Oh no I don't like these stories of toddlers still waking in the night!

sounds like all the children have a similar problem! That's funny @redlemonade they'll be making up for all the lost sleep as teenagers but sadly us parent's won't!
The worst sleep is when it's broken, I always end up more tired from the constant up and down and feel like a zombie by the end of the day just in time to do it all again Shock
