I'm going away next week for two nights. My DS currently has a BF before bed (but is put down awake) and when he wakes at night. My DH tried to put him down to sleep last week and DS was still awake when I got home at 9:30pm! He's been ill and teething for weeks now which doesn't help either.
Current routine: bath (every other night), PJs, story in room, feed, bed. What I'm thinking of doing is feeding him downstairs before we get him changed for bed to try and break the association between BF and bedtime. After a few days of this then giving him milk in a cup instead of BF, then getting DH to give him milk in a cup. He's not usually very good at drinking enough milk from his cup but I'm hoping he'll get the idea over a few days.
Does this sound like a sensible way to get him to sleep without BF?
