I'm so disheartened, DS was regularly sleeping for 4 hour chunks in last few weeks we even had a few 5 hours! Last couple of nights we're back down to 2hrs 45mins at a time- precise I know but that was every interval last night!

I know this is the way it goes but still difficult hey.

Ideally you could do with establishing your long term settling mechanism. Whether you decide to embrace cosleeping and free access to boob, rocking to sleep, using a dummy or whatever you choose.

As baby leaves the newborn phase, then is the time you have to start actively settling baby to sleep, rather than it being a passive thing.

It may just be a growth spurt and he is extra hungry.

It can be so disheartening when they make up more often are sleeping through but remember everything is a phase.

Whoop! We had 4 hours then another 4 hours last night Smile

When he's waking he kicks and kicks, I thought it might be wind (I think it is a bit), last night I took the blanket off his legs and he went to sleep.. so I'm thinking he was hot. Do I go less blanket or get him into a thin sleeping bag?? It's all trial and error isn't it!

My youngest is just 3 months. He was sleeping in hour chunks overnight, it then changed to one 5 hour and a 3 hour, he then went from 10pm-7am for a whole week, and he's now sleeping until 2:30am and 2:30 -7:00am. They're still very young, and it does depend on whether they're going through growth spurts, etc. As long as he settles quickly after his feed, I'm happy!

At this age, it's nothing you're doing. He's doing well even to go for that long. Try to ready yourself for ups and downs as it can be that way for quite a while

Oh I know it's up and down.. just a shame when you lose the long stretches! I took him to be weighed yesterday and he has had a growth spurt
