Reflux baby - update

Hi all

I posted about 10 days ago regarding my reflux baby suddenly waking numerous times at night crying in pain (not hunger). Prior to this all changing one night, she had virtually been sleeping through. She is 15 weeks old and this has now been happening for 3+ weeks.

When I last posted we had just started retandjne and it definitely had helped from starting about 8 days ago. However, even with the dosage upped, she is now spitting up hours after a feed, wind is very delayed, and constantly waking through the night although not crying in pain as much.

Are their any reflux mums out there that can offer any advice? She is FF on Aptamil profuture, 2 gaviscon watchers, plus the retadine. Would it be worth trying aptamil anti reflux? Has any one any experience of retadine?

She is becoming increasing distressed and uncomfortable - and I'm sure the frequent wakings aren't helping as she looks SO tired and constantly waking.

I'm really at my wits end as she is becoming quite withdrawn at this point and making less eye contact etc. She was such a happy content baby, until literally one night everything spiralled. Is reflux really this bad, even on all these meds?!? And to be such a sudden change?!

Xx

I just wanted to add that she goes back to sleep very quickly, until we get to 5am then she is difficult to get back down. She looks very uncomfortable and I'm worried that I'm not doing enough to help her, or even that this may not be the reflux - I just can't get over how this literally changed one night and spiralled.

Have you tried a dummy? They are recommended to help with reflux.

She doesn't sleep well with them, she just gets drousy, it falls out, she gets aggitated...

Her nose is also extremely blocked from the reflux so wondering if this is also causing the wake ups. Has anyone used retadine before?

Have you considered it could be cows milk allergy?
