Help me with my teething and overtired DD! :(

I've posted before about DD and her general sleep dodging antics. Up until a week or so ago bedtime was really good, bath, book, milk, then sleeping without a grumble (or maybe a few mini grumbles). We then went away for a few nights, she grumbled slightly more but still went to sleep by herself and wasn't distraught.
The last couple of nights it's taking about two hours to settle her. I'm sure I can see tooth buds (she already has 8, she's almost 1) and she does seem to be in discomfort. She also has a cold. However despite teething gel, calpol, ibuprofen, she still won't settle. She doesn't want to be cuddled and tries to wriggle out of my arms so I can't even cuddle her to sleep :( at the moment I'm just leaving her in her cot and going in every ten mins trying to cuddle or feed her.
Oh and she's overtired as whatever this is is disrupting her naps as well, she's maybe getting an hour a day.
Any advice please?!

I have no advice but our 7 month old ds is doing the same thing! He's always been a rubbish night sleeper (wakes every 2 hours) and I consoled myself with the fact that at least he went down easily! Not anymore! I must have spent 4 hours today trying to get him to sleep, you have my sympathy! I'm just desperately hoping it's a phase!

I'm presuming you can still buy them (my youngest is 12 so it was a long time ago) but I found that homeopathic teething granules used to be fantastically soothing for fractious teething babies.

IIRC they were made by Nelsons.

They certainly worked with mine but don't think they work for all.

Good luck though and let us know how you get on

I couldn't find the teething powder last night even though I know I have some somewhere!!! Ironically she went down really easily...

I feel relieved to read I'm not the only one. DD has been the prefect baby and slept thekigh from 3 weeks but since just before Xmas the dreaded teething kicked in and we haven't had a full nights sleep since.
We have it all from powders to Amber.
Does anyone's baby seem to be suffering from runny nose, coughing and general not happy when teething?

DD has a cough and runny nose as well but I'm sick so think we both have a horrid cold. I'm miserable with it though and she is her usual chirpy self! Confused she is going to sleep just fine now but waking 3/4 times a night... I don't even think her teeth are bothering her anymore. I'm going back to work next week and absolutely panicking!!!
