Help! My six year old has suddenly stopped going to sleep 😴

So my son has slept 12-15hrs a night since he was 3months old - he has just always needed a lot of sleep and apart from if he's ill sleeps through and I have to wake him on a morning.

That is until about ten days / two weeks ago. Still putting him to bed as usual but 10pm and he's still tripping about - was 10.38 when he finally got off last night and he's still up and about tonight.

I have been through everything and nothing has changed, spoken to him, asked school - nothing I can put my finger on! Diet hasn't changed either.

Any idea's ? Anyone else had this? Please tell me it ends?

I know my oldest was a nightmare she never slept from birth till about 9 she now wont get up in the mornings. Middle one has been okish and i thought i finally had the fabled perfect sleeper until as you say about 10 days ago all im thinking is maybe its the aftermath of christmas and the holidays.

What time is bedtime meant to be? What is he doing between bedtime and going to sleep? (Eg. Crying, messing, running around?)

Mine is in bed by 7.30 he makes every excuse to get out of bed. Have found what i think is the reason though turns out mil told him her cat went to sleep forever and hes worrying about it. I explained last night that he wasnt asleep and that he had died (he is used to death as we keep fish and hamsters) he accepted that and went to sleep alot quicker last night

kariana bedtime has always been 7pm but my first thought was maybe he is just growing up a little and needs to go a little later so I've been trying 7.30/8 - not that it has made a difference so far! He is just messing about in his room and popping down half a dozen times with a different excuse!
