Sleep

9 weeks old and the 'witching hour(s)'!

Hello. Our son Jonah is nearly 9 weeks old. He's a good sleeper in his cot during the day and at night, but between 5pm and 11pm it's a bit of a different story! He is clearly really tired, but seems to fight sleep and will wake repeatedly after being settled/fed to sleep. I appreciate he is still really young, and we're under no illusion that he should be in a 'routine' at this early stage, but I am keen to hear any suggestions/ideas/experiences from people about managing this part of the day. We've recently started introducing a 'routine' in the evenings, consisting of a bath at around 6.30pm, followed by a feed, in the hope of encouraging him to start differentiating between day and night a little, and to sleep during the evening before a late feed at around 11/11.30. I am not complaining in the slightest - it's such early days and we of course enjoy the cuddles, but equally at some point it would be nice to have our evenings back so it would be great to hear other people's experiences! Thanks in advance.

He wants feeding more.

The evening cluster feeding is a normal thing that hapiens and it's all about calories.

Feed feed feed and feed more.

Hi!

Not much to add but just thought I'd say we also have a son called Jonah Grin he is 10 weeks old and we're in a very similar position to you! He does not want to go down in his cot in the evening until his last feed (around 10.30/11) so one of us is holding him all night until that last feed Confused I have a 21 month old DD and I know she was similar but I really can't remember when she started to sleep in her cot in the evenings Hmm we also do routine of feed, bath, change of clothes etc but hasn't worked so far!

You need to bore him to sleep, sit in the dark somewhere
