what is the awake time for your 15mo?

DS is 15mo. He's on one nap per day since the last two months, sleeps 11-12 hours at night usually and is awake between 6 and 6.30 in the morning. I have been putting him down for his nap around 12.30 and he'll sleep 1-2 hours. In the last week he's been putting up a royal fight about going for his nap, and by the time I've managed to actually convince him to sleep he's well over-tired and sleeps for about 30 mins! DD had very different sleep needs and he's always needed less than her - am I putting him down too early or too late, or is he just having a phase?! thanks

Dd2 is the same age, she sleeps 6-5 and naps roughly 9-11, she doesn't sleep in the afternoon anymore. 5-6 is a whingefest but works for her!

If he is waking up at 6, I'd try putting him down at 10 and see if that suits him better.

I've tried putting him down in the morning, he just goes bananas! 10 is def too early for him but I might try 11

Whatthefreak my lo is just a year and sleeps 630- between 5 and 5.30 and if we are in will nap at 9 for roughly 2 hours. She will sleep im car or pushchair if tired in anoon for half an hour and tea time to bed time can also be whingy. I was thinking of trying just an anoon longer nap but good to hear someone else just has a long morning nap smile x

My 16 month old wakes at 6, bed at 7pm and naps for anywhere between 45 mins - 1hr 30 at some point between 11 and 3. She wakes loads in the night. I'm clearly not the best person to give advice grin

DD2 is 15 months. She sleeps 7-6ish, and naps 12-1.30ish. She's usually ready for her nap around 11 but that leaves us with a long afternoon until bedtime so I keep her up until 12 if possible!

You posted at 04:46am OP! 😮😩🛌 that's a mighty early morning.

I'd probably aim for an 11-11.30am naptime on a one-nap day

My ds goes down for the night at 7:30pm and sleeps until about 6/6:30. He does go through the night now. His nap time is about 1-2pm but he will go through phases (like your ds) of refusing to go down for a nap. I think you're putting him down for his nap at a pretty typical time but maybe he is teething or going through a development phase? If ds won't go down for his nap or only gets 30 minutes or so, I know that he can just about get through until bedtime. If he gets really tired we have some quiet time in front of the tv before dinner. I usually find that within a week or two he starts going down for his naps again.

I would do later bed. If he's sleeping 11hrs at night then that's perfectly normal. So 7pm bed, then 6am is expected. Do 8.30pm bed and 7.30am wake more expected

DD is 15 months this week.

She sleeps 7pm to 8am. Naps at noon for anywhere between 1 and 3 hours.

She has the odd day, or few days, where she rejects naps or gets hysterical but it seems to be blips.

Ds is 15 months and the last few weeks his naps are all over the shop. He wakes 5.15 most days, but Def between 5+6. Asleep 6.30, trying to get that a bit later but failing!

Generally only having one nap, 1-2 hrs but rarely 2. Whenever I can get him to sleep! Today he was ready at 10 but would not give in, and I had to go out. He finally slept at 2.30.

A couple of Saturdays ago he didn't nap at all.

FATEDestiny I am in Singapore, not up at 4.45am (Thankfully!)

ArtandCo I'm not complaining about his wake up time, it suits our family as we are early risers but more about getting him to take his nap calmly.

Nottalotta glad it's not just mine causing a nap-fuss at the moment!

Watching with interest as just about to ask the same question. My 15 mo wakes between 5.30 and 6.30. He naps from 12 until 2..sometimes longer, like today,he is still asleep now and it is 2.45. His nap varies. I would like to have him in bed at 7.30 but he is fighting and fighting bedtime so wonder if his awake time before bed can be very long, or shorter?????(last night he slept at 8.30!!!)so am also wondering about awake times too. He could go on forever...or do I miss the window???

ps there is a sleep regression at 18mo...I think mine is preparing for it at bedtimes..ah, maybe yours is a nap resister in this regression!
