Sleep

9 month old waking every hour

My 9 month baby who is breastfed and on solids and is waking nearly every hour. I put her into her own cot at 8pm, follow a routine, but I'm up and down to her until 1am nearly every hour / hour and half at which point I bring her into the bed. She will not let my husband resettle her, just wants to feed back to sleep. We are at the end of our tether, both absolutely exhausted. I am returning to work and this can not continue. I don't want to do CC or cry it out method, but I haven't had a 3/4 hour sleep stretch in months on end . I'm afraid her development will be affected also. We are just so sleep deprived and worried. Does anybody have any advice/ tips?

How long has it been this bad for? Is she about to crawl/stand? We have similar for around 3 weeks ar least around motor milestones. Which is pretty hellish given than mine starts work on the next one before he's even mastered the current one Hmm

Ooh I also read in my sleep book yesterday that's it's prime separation anxiety time and it's a good time to introduce a 'transitional object' that reminds them of you.

Thanks for replies! She's always been a poor sleeper, just even worse lately. She started crawling a few weeks ago. We are thinking of contacting a sleep consultant at this stage but so costly at €350 .

Sorry this maybe be controversial. At 7 mo my ds was waking every 40mins-1 hour for feeding, I started giving her a bottle of formula and she slept through (also when she went in one room) I tried expressing but after half an hour i barely had half and ounce. Maybe worth checking your milk supply?

You could be right. Thanks for advice. I will try her with a bottle and see if I notice a difference! I will try anything at this stage!!!

Good luck, if it is milk supply issue, you could try flapjack. Oats are supposed to help (not for me though)
