Co-sleeping - how?

Hi there - it might be a silly question but if you co-sleep with baby how do you get them down if you want an evening? Do they just fall asleep in the bed without your presence? We have a holiday coming up and not having much luck transitioning baby into the big cot yet. Rather than drag the Moses basket out there it seems like co-sleeping is an option but we don't really want to be tucked up in bed at 1930!

I feed DS2 to sleep, lie with him for a little bit and then either fall asleep myself Blushor creep out for a little while. Before he could roll it was much easier bit now we have his cot against one side of the bed and a bed guard on the other side. He sometimes wakes up but usually just sits up.

Thanks that is really helpful. Totally with you on falling asked whenever a cosy bed is in the vicinity

On holiday we've seen lots of parents putting their children down to sleep in a lie-flat pushchair (with something to block out the light) until they all go to bed. Rarely worked for us but most people seemed to find this fine. At home DS starts the night in his cot and then comes into our bed later if he wants to.
