Pregnant with second, need help to sort dc1 sleep!

Ds is neatly 1. He feeds to sleep though this is becoming unreliable. Put in cot then Co sleep from first waking (usually 1am but can be early as 9.30) feeds on and off in the night.

I don't want to carry on doing this given that I am pregnant with dc2. I don't really mind Co sleeping but concerned about my comfort as pregnancy progresses.

I read up on the Dr Jay Gordon method. I just cannot imagine putting him down awake, it will surely deteriorate into screaming. From experience. I am not prepared to cio or cc.

Would stopping feeding to sleep and just cuddling be a step in the right direction? I'd still expect tears but if I put him down awake he will just stand up, play, etc then cry. If I lay him down again hell cry, get up etc etc. Any suggestions? Only just pregnant so I have months.

I'm afraid I have no answers OP but
am watching thread with interest as my DS is fed to sleep and then we bedshare from first waking which is often before midnight, wondering what to do too!

Hi there's a huuuuge thread on sleep, something like 'this worked for us' started by someone who did some form of gradual retreat I think, stayed by cot, baby put in awake. Outlines steps they took and how long till the changes were made. Other posters gave then added to it with following her technique or similar. It was up to 600+ posts last time I looked. (I dip into it every now and then when I desperately think I'll sort 20mo dc3's sleep out, but am too tired/ lazy to do anything other than cosleep still ...)

Might be worth a look
