Hi, my six week old exclusively breastfed baby sleeps fantastically during the day. He can nap for 3 hours easily and this morning went 5 hours between his 8am feed and eventually I woke him at 1pm.
At night time however he tends to only sleep for 1-2 hours at a time before waking.
I tend to offer him a feed and he'll feed for about 5 mins or so max before drifting off so I sense it's comfort rather than hunger he is after, but if I don't wind him thoroughly he'll wake when I put him down and cry.
Given I know it's possible for him to go longer between feeds, how can I gently convince him he should do this at night instead of the day?
Or do I need to just lower expectations and wait it out...?
I do ensure it's bright and noisy in the day, night feeds are done in the dark and silence and I try to avoid changing him if possible but he still seems to be nocturnal!
