Sweaty toddler head

I understand it's common for toddlers to get a sweaty head when they sleep, but why?

Mine is 20mo, and usually sleeps around 7:30pm then wakes in a puddle around the head around 9pm. Doesn't happen any other time.

I have no concerns about illness, the room temperature, heating timing, level of clothing etc.

Weird!

Both my boys had super sweaty heads but kind of grew out of it. They were sticky messes!
