10 week old baby sleep

DS2 is 10 weeks old. Up until this week he was quite a good sleeper at night - I would feed him to sleep, swaddle him and put him down around 11pm, and he would sleep until 3-4ish, feed and drop back asleep, then sleep again until 6-7. Suddenly, he's started waking every hour. He's not hungry, sometimes he seems to have tummy ache but often he's just awake and crying for no obvious reason.
His daytime sleep is also pretty terrible. He will only nap if held or if moving. I have a 3.5 year old DS who is getting a bit neglected as I always seem to have the baby attached to me! I have tried the whole "putting down awake but drowsy" - does that actually work for anyone?! It never worked for DS1, not until he was about 9 months anyway. I used to walk miles to get him to nap, but I can't do it with this baby, not with an older one to look after!
Any suggestions, other than sling for naps? Please don't suggest co-sleeping, I have tried with both kids and I just can't sleep at all with a baby in my bed. Plus, DS2 will only actually settle if lying on my chest - by my side isn't good enough!

Hi, i cant offer any advice but my Dd is also 10 weeks and very similar. She doesn't sleep that well in the day either, normally just power naps.

8 week old very similar! First child took a dummy so was able to suck herself to sleep - had no trouble putting her down awake but drowsy. DC2 won't take a dummy so goes berserk if you put him in the cot awake. Happily sleeps while moving in pram or car but obviously that's not possible for every nap when you have an older child to look after!

Hope someone comes along with some advice.

Your son sounds exactly like my 10 week old. Same sleep pattern. The last 3 nights I've been awake every hour in tears, wondering what happened to my baby that was waking once a night.
He also won't nap in the day unless we go out.
I have no advice but I feel your pain. Let's hope it's just a phase

Spanielface - how are you getting on? Any breakthrough yet? I really don't know what I'm going to do with my DS Shock
