Sleep

cot / Moses / crib...

Hi all,

I need something for second baby to sleep in for our room that needs to last about 6 months (as that's when we're planning to move ds1 to a mid-sleeper & free up his cot bed)

It needs to be small enough to fit in our room (so crib size ideally). We used a Moses for ds1 which was ok but he seemed to grow out of it quickly - and was a crap sleeper.

I really like the idea of a side sleeper as hope to bf again and think this will be easiest. Also looked at sleepyhead's and might be able to borrow one off sil.

Any ideas / suggestions? NCT bed nest loan thing seemed quite good too.

Thanks

The sleepyhead would be my suggestion if your happy to co sleep. It can then easily be used anywhere in the house and taken out in the car for sleeping anywhere else
They can be used on beds or the floor so flexibility. I think the smallest size lasts around 10 months

Other suggestion is buy the full size single mattress and put on eldests floor so he can sleep on mattress a few months low down until old enough for mid sleeper. Then use the cotbed in your room. Could just use the cot bed mattress also if space is an issue so you can stand it up or slide under your bed in the day.

We got a Chicco next to me bedside crib for DD! Can be used with the side up or down so can easily connect to your bed if you're breast feeding

We got a snuzpod as we have a small bedroom so wanted a narrow bed, but one that would last longer than a Moses basket.

We used a sleepyhead in it. Dd slept well in it until about 6mo when it became too narrow for her and her arms hitting the sides used to wake her.

I like the snuzpod but I would have got a Chico next to me if it would have fitted in the top as it seems more versatile - folds down well and is a bit wider.

I think nct have a good sale on snuzpods this weekend (I got an email this morning!)

Good luck with your little one Smile

*fitted in the room, not in the top!
