Sleep

Should I be getting him back to sleep?

Got another thread on the go about (almost) 10wk ds who had started waking up more through the night for no reason to see if it's normal. Just lies awake for over an hour until he gets hungry, I feed him, he sleeps, and repeat. For the hour plus he's awakeish but not upset, I'm awake too because of his fidgeting & just waiting to be needed.

Should I be actively trying to get him back to sleep as soon as he starts stirring? Feels odd to just let him lie there awake when he's supposed to be learning about sleeping at night.

Since it ends in a feed anyway should I just do this as soon as he starts fidgeting or would this turn it into a permanent habit?

Id just feed him. If this results in him going straight back to sleep at least he wont get into the habit of lying around awake.

Is he fed to sleep at bedtime? Could it be that he wakes and doesnt know how to get back to sleep?

no, I feed him and then he's bathed and read a story before he gets himself to sleep. Try to follow the E.A.S.Y routine where we can so he doesn't associate sleep with boob (not that it's helping right now!)

we've just managed a total of 20 minutes sleep before he was fidgeting again :<br />
I just feel bad because I feel so frustrated with him and it's only been less than a week - I know some parents have it much, much worse. If I could sleep through his fidgeting it wouldn't be a problem.
