Sleep

2 year old now waking at night again argh

My son was quite a good sleeper from about 10 months old onwards, sleeping through till around 7-7:30 if we were lucky. However he's been waking every night since he was two and now wakes early around 5:45.
On the plus the night waking just needs a quick cuddle over the cot and he will go back to sleep but I'd rather he wasn't doing this!
He naps really well on the day (too well?) from around 1-3:30/4 and goes to bed really well as well. He's usually asleep by 8pm.
We have recently moved house which I'm sure started this off.
Any ideas how to get him back to sleeping through? Or just ride it out?
I'm thinking maybe cut his nap down a bit in the day and leave the time I go into him each night so it gradually longer. When I do go in I limit chat and don't pick him up. I can't let him cry it out. Just not in me.
Thanks for any advice! X

In the same boat and putting it down to 2 year sleep regression. Have been wondering about cutting the nap but when she's up from 5am it feels wrong!

I'm in the same boat! Dd only has an hour's nap but I'm thinking of cutting it -her sister didn't nap at all by 2. It's driving me crazy that she wakes up most nights. And got me up at 5.30 today!!!

My 22mo is the same - used to be a great sleeper, now wants cuddles at 2am and wakes anywhere around 5.30

I'm trying to remember that everything is a phase and this will pass but following this thread for any tips!

I find he's worse without a decent nap and better of we've managed a good run round in the fresh air.

Yeh got a feeling will just have to grin and bear it urgh. I think my son still needs a nap in the pm - gut feeling. Heard about this 2 yr regression and that they become more insecure again. Not sure when it is supposed to stop though!

3x last night! Urgh I'm broken. He's also pushing his toys out then crying. Not sure what to do about that. I could put him in a bed now but then he'll be out all over the house! When does the sleep regression end and I am digging a hole by keeping going in? Feel worse than newborn stage zzzzz

Far to long a nap and far to late.

At this stage 2 hours 1-3 would be sufficient. Try for a few days.

Noted will try that tactic
