Sleeping on sode

Hi,
Can anyone help? I know it's not recommended for babies to sleep on their backs of sides however my DD is only able to have a good sleep in her Moses basket if she is on her side. If I put her on her back the covers Are kicked off (not so good in December) her arms and legs start to thrash about I can head all sorts of noises from her she starts to fart and whither in pain....however when she is on my chest or in the sleepyhead I'm sure she could happily sleep all day and night! Obviously the sleepyhead doesn't fit in the Moses basket but it does fit in her crib, the only reason I haven't transferred her into the crib is due to the sleepyhead not being recommended for bedtime as it doesn't have the proper safety checks... Is this still the case? Only way I can use it is to co sleep and nap! I also have the angel care monitor

Could you shift to using sleeping bags so she doesn't kick the covers off? I think they are fantastic.

My dd (6 months) sleeps on her side, I feel ok with this now she is a bit older and we also have the angelcare. I used to pop a rolled up towel to stop her rolling onto her stomach.

Great idea about the towel!
I have a sleeping bag for her but it's too big and all the ones I've seen are from 3 months I'll have another look thanks

Have you looked at the new gro-snug? It's suitable from newborn and does the same as the sleeping bags but smaller. I have one for my DS (3 weeks old)

My DS2 slept on his side from birth - I used a rolled up blanket behind him as a wedge and angled him more towards his back than his front iyswim. From about 8mo he started tummy sleeping of his own accord and even now at 20mo he always sleeps on his tummy. I hate sleeping on my back and could fully understand why it would feel horrible for a baby.
