Food to help sleep

Hi there

After another not so great nights sleep I have spoken to the health visitor about trying to help my baby sleep past 4am. She suggested starting food and starting weaning, she is 5 and a half months so under the six month recommendation. What would you do? Thank you!

If she isn't waking until 4am, I very much doubt it's hunger. Anything you could give her would be digested by 4am too, surely?

5.5 months really is fine to wean if you want to, but don't particularly expect it to improve sleep.

My mother harped on about how weaning would encourage my DD2 to sleep more. Made zero difference. Even giving her things that would fill her up for dinner. Nada.

Oh! Fair enough! No she wakes for a feed about 12.30am (from a 7pm put down) and then again at 2.30am for a bit of a cry and then 4am ish. I guess it's a case of trying to ride it out then! Confused
