sleeping on stomach

Hi advice!! My 2 week old will not sleep in an evening unless she's on my chest on her belly!! I have tried everything to put her to sleep in her crib swaddling, not swaddling, sleeping bag, cover on her back side, white noise, music! But she is unsettled unless I pick her up or put her on her belly she sleeps!! An will sleep s good 5 hour through!! I know she shouldn't sleep in her belly though so I don't know what to do!! Sleep or no sleep happy baby on her belly or no happy baby!!!!!!

I let DS sleep on me for his first 3 months it's what all the advice says not to do but he couldn't get to sleep any other way and I was more concerned with him actually getting some sleep than with what people thought. He's now 6 months and sleeps happily in his cot. Have a read about the 'fourth trimester'. Some babies just need this close contact.

Personal decision but I've placed 12wk dd2 on her front since she was born and she sleeps so much better than dd1 ever did at this age.

She's in a bed side cot so couldn't be nearer and we don't have any other SID risks.

Helps her stomach gripes and stops the startle reflex from waking her.

I had no choice but to do this. dd2 would not sleep any other way.

I was running up stairs every 10-15 mins every evening trying to re settle her.

by 4 in the morning I'd give up and turn her over.

she slept really well after that. I wouldn't have to get up once

5 years on she still sleeps mainly on her tummy or side.

We did this with both our dds after assessing the risks. We wouldn't have coped on the amount of sleep we got otherwise. Very personal decision.
