Would I be a fool to get a bed with a slide?

I'm buying new bedroom furniture for DD (age 4). I'm tempted to get a cabin bed with a slide, because who wouldn't want to slide out of bed each morning?! I also like the idea of there being a cosy reading nook underneath.

Has anyone had any experience of these beds? Will I find her sliding away at 4 in the morning (she's a good sleeper usually)?

I like the idea too but wonder how you change the bed without sitting on the mattress ....

Maybe a stool? The one I'm looking at is only 3ft high.
