Wake a sleeping baby?

I'm not sure what to do with ds, he's almost 8 weeks and is bottle fed roughly every 3 hours.

Trouble is our day seems to be quite last. I've got him into a loose routine of bath, bottle bed, I try to get him down at around 8.30pm but I'm getting the feeling that this might be a bit late, he often won't settle, I feel he's overtired.

Trouble is he wakes between 8 and 9am, he also seems to have a long sleep late afternoon so all his feeds shift later.

I'm wondering whether I should start waking him at 7am to hopefully bring his feed, nap times earlier, or waking him from his nap to fit his feeds in before bed.

Does anyone do this so young or leave them to sleep?

I'd leave it. He's so little!

My DD is 11 weeks tomorrow and we don't have any set routine at all yet. The past week she's started settling for the night between 9 and 10, then usually wake for a feed around 3, but then it's sometimes 6:30, sometimes 7:30 that she next feeds, and the time we get up for the day varies too.

I just started getting mine up an hour before the feed was due so for mine he ate at 5am slept until 7when I woke him and dressed him and then fed him again at 8am. He loved his routines (still does) and settled into this easily at a few weeks old. Our evenings were big feed around 8pm and down to sleep then a top up feed around 11pm.

His sis on the other hand is 7months and hates our routines and insists on getting up at 4am (has since she was 2days old) it makes no odds what we do with feeds, naps and night times.
