Why won't she go to sleep??!

DD is 11 months old. This last week she has not been going to sleep after her normal bedtime routine. We haven't been doing anything different, she's still breastfed to sleep, but instead of nodding off after her feed, PING she's up and awake again! Normal bedtime is about 7pm, but now she's not falling asleep until about 9.30pm. Inbetween that time she's her happy normal self again wanting to play. I'd understand it if she seemed tired and grumpy but she just doesn't seem tired!

She must be though because she's not getting enough sleep at night (about 9hours) although she does still nap quite well in the day, for about 3 hours in total split between 2 naps.

I need my evenings back as it's the only time I can get stuff done! Please tell me it's just a phase or what I can do to stop this!?!! Thank you!

Maybe she only needs one long nap?

Was going to say the same as above. My DS has just turned one and is definitely moving to one nap - he has been playing silly beggars as you describe.
The nursery say around the first birthday is a common time to go from two to one.

Cut to one nap? At that age DD slept about 10 hours at night and had a one and a half hour afternoon nap.

Ok that's interesting! She has occasionally not had the second nap recently so I'll see if we can drop it properly, hopefully that'll help! Thank you!

There's usually a bit of a transition period when you drop to one and she might be a bit grumpy in the mornings but it settles after a few days. God luck!
