6 months and won't nap

My 6 month old won't nap! Which means he is sleeping badly at night too. It's my own fault he used to nap on me now I am trying to get him to self sooth and I thought I had done it. Last week he slept during the day well took no more than 15 minutes to get to sleep. This week he just won't do it and is waking up lots during the night. I have PND too and it's infuriating me why won't he do it

Why can't he nap on you? I'm very much of "whatever gets you through" school of parenting.
