Hi there, my daughter is nearly 7 months old now, she has finally learned to roll over!! Yay! However... Now she will roll onto her front in her cot of a night time, but cant roll back over, she will happily fall asleep in this position, however my question is, is it safe? The hv told me not to worry when she does learn to roll over, however I'm worried as she can't get beck onto her back, should I put her back onto her back, or let her sleep on her front? Thankyou!

At 7 months I would not be unduly worried and you can't watch her all night anyway. She is past the main risk period for Sids. I would just make sure the cot is free from loose items (teddies etc), use a grobag not a loose blanket, and give her lots of time on the floor during the day to practice rolling back the other way.

And to answer your actual question, I would pop her on her back if she's a heavy sleeper and likely to stay there, but if she'll roll straight back over then leave her to it. DD was the same and in the end j just let her sleep on her front as she seemed to prefer it once she could roll. She wasn't 'stuck' there iyswim

My DS2 is just over 7mo and does same thing except he rolls onto tummy and wakes screaming like he's being eaten by foxes.
I wish he'd stay asleep on him tummy...!
But I'd read what others have said, if he's strong enough to roll over by himself he's strong enough to move his head to one side to be able to breathe comfortably and will undoubtedly by nice and comfy on his tummy.
