7 month old suddenly waking at 2am

Having precipitously slept well (8-8 generally) DS is now waking at bang on 2am each night. We have an hour or so crying etc and then he goes back to sleep. Any ideas what this might be. I've started to give him milk in the night as it seems to calm him but I'm not convinced he's asking because he's hungry, can anyone help?

That should say *having previously slept!

Hi could he be teething? We used to get night time crying when new ones were coming through.

Yeh that's what I thought but I'm not sure. It would make sense I guessed his gums trouble him during the day...
