After 5 weeks I cane to the conclusion my ds was not sleeping anywhere but my chest he just loves being cuddled. I made sure it was safe no covers etc an I haven't looked back.
he's now getting a bit heavy to carry on I've been looking at the co sleeping snuggly pillows eg sleepy head , poddlepod etc has anyone tried these? or has anyone any other suggestions to slowly move him into the direction of a moses basket?

I had this problem with ds2 & ds3. I really struggled with ds2 - in the end he slept in his side, he just couldn't sleep on his back. In ds3's case I bought an amby hammock & it was brilliant. He was very happy in there & I just wished I'd had it for ds2. I suspect in both cases they maybe had some silent reflux so back sleeping was uncomfortable (the amby props them up a bit & is close & snuggly)

Meant to say - but both would only sleep on my chest & would wake immediately I put on their backs in a Moses basket & couldn't settle.

The book Sweet Sleep may help you.

My DS is now 7 months and used to only sleep on my chest. I could never put him on his back and sleeping on me was the only way for us both to sleep. He is quite tall for his age and it was getting more and more uncomfortable but by 5 months (hope that doesn't scare you) I think he also didn't find it so comfortable to stay asleep on my chest.

Since he was 5 months, I've let him fall asleep on my chest but then after about ten mins I transfer him onto his side next to me. He wakes frequently in night (that's another story!) so I cuddle him on chest and then just keep repeating. Sometimes when I transfer him onto his side he flaps his arms but I rub his back and most times I can soothe him back to sleep.

Good luck! The things we have to do for sleep!!

Mine was prem and had tongue tie and a bit of reflux and would only sleep on my chest for the first 3 months.

I never had any of the products but I think the most likely to have worked would have been the Cocoonababy because it has a slope as well as enclosing them. Friend's baby had reflux and she said it was a godsend. Second hand is much cheaper.

However, how old is your baby now, as it may not last much longer?
