Help - 3 month old sleeps constantly through day and restless at night

My 3 month old sleeps all day long and we try everything to wake him with no success. He wakes for food and screams if it's not ready when he is and he also screams when his nappy or clothes are changed. At night he wakes for a few hours but sleeps mainly but in his moses basket he is making noises and restless constantly so we don't get any sleep. Is it normal to sleep for so long? Can I do anything to get him to wake in day? Please help!!

It's perfectly normal I'm afraid. It will change eventually, keep faith. Never wake a sleeping baby at that age though! If they need to sleep let them, their circadian rhythm will kick in eventually. The crazy noises are also normal. Goat noises, dolphin noises... Again, they will eventually disappear!

It's so frustrating waiting for him to change, never mind tiring! I am exhausted. We tried moving him into another room opposite hours but I kept getting up and going to him at all the crazy noises so got no more sleep! I wish babies came with user manuals.

It will pass! (And you get better at functioning on no sleep ) have you thought about a video monitor if you want him in a different room? Then a quick peek can reassure you without having to get up!
