10 month old - putting down for a nap

I'm not 100% sure what i'm asking for here.

I have a 10 month old who is just really inconsistent with being put down for her naps.

I give her her bottle before her nap - sometimes she falls asleep right after and i can pop her down. Sometimes she'll still be awake (but clearly tired) and i'll rock her to sleep or nearly asleep then put her down. Other times she'll be put down sleepy and i'll shush pat her but it can take several goes (with lots of crying when i leave her).

The thing is i also have an almost 3 year old who obviously i can't leave by herself for long periods so i end up nipping up and down stairs trying to get the baby to sleep while also keeping an eye on the older one.

I know i'm not being very consistent and this is probably the key but i don't know the best way to get the baby to nap/self settle while not ignoring my 3yo. I think because i've tried so many things (and sometimes they work, sometimes they don't) I've got myself in a bit of a flap.

Any and all suggestions welcome please!

Nap in the pram/buggy. Go for a walk with toddler and baby in pram?

Is there a pattern related to her activities? DD (nearly 11 months) naps well if she's mentally tired - if she has a quiet day at home she won't nap but if she's put doing something that she has to think about she naps well.

I can give the pram a try though with the toddler in tow i don't know if we'll reach the required speed!

SoMuch actually thinking about it her 'better' days are probably where we've done a class or something. I'll try to do a bit more activities and see if that helps.

Thank you for replying!
