Sleep

Establishing early bedtime

Hi

DD2 is 11 weeks and I feel it's time to claw my evenings back. At the moment she seems to think bedtime is about 9pm and I'd like her to go down at the same time as her sister - round about 7. But if I put her down then after a bath and a feed she treats it like a nap and wakes 40 mins later. With DD1 we brought her bedtime earlier and earlier gradually but that seems like a faff as we'd have to put DD1 to bed and then immediately start bath and bed for DD2. So I guess my question is, if we persevere with putting DD2 down at 7 and just try to resettle her when she wakes up will she eventually get it?

Thanks

That's what we did with our DS at about the same age - he was going down at about 9.30 and we moved it to 7.30.

He's 7 months now and it seems like forever ago, but from what I recall it wasn't too painful. He still occasionally wakes after his first sleep cycle, but that's just him Smile

Thanks noisy. Come to think of it DD1 always had a little cry after first cycle but went back to sleep easily.
