No more Controlled Crying - broken baby!

My DS is 8.5 months old. I wanted to help him self-settle and more gradual methods hadn't really worked. We did some controlled crying last week with some success - 2 nights where although he has woken hasn't needed night feed. However it really feels like the wrong thing to do, I'm ashamed and don't want to put DS through it any moresad .

So tonight I decided no more. The question is what do I do instead? I used to pat his back and sing to him and most times he would settle down. Not tonight, I've had to feed him twice. Feels like I'm being punished. Any ideas? Go back to just walking out of the room?

Not sure. But I would suggest you read Anthea (Andrea?) Grace's book Gentle Sleep Solutions to make sure you are comfortable with what you're doing and why.

Developmental leap. Google 'the wonder weeks'. You'll get through it,try not to worry.
