Anyone moved from grobag to duvet at 12 months?

First of all, I know you are advised against a duvet until 12 months.

My 11 month old is very active. Likes to crawl, stand up, sit up and fall over! He is quite large and is in mostly 18 months - 2 years clothes.

He has been in a grobag since 3 months old. A month or so ago he outgrew his 6-12 month old (or it might have been 6-18 month?) and is now in the next size up, which is HUGE - really long.

He has had VERY restless nights for the last two weeks, resulting in him waking at 5, very grumpy, when he has been a strict 7-7 for the last 7 months.

I went in to him last night when he was just whimperring (but every few minutes so clearly not having a great nights sleep but was still asleep.) His head was up against the cot bumper (as usual) but his sleeping bag was all twisted so he couldn't really turn over.

I'm wonderring if a duvet would make him feel more comfortable but am worried about him waking up cold and then crying.

Anyone else done the transition from grobag to duvet at this age?

Everything you have just said I went through a couple of months back, my son is now 14 months old and looks like a 2 year old. I have him a quilt and a pillow around 10 months, I know your not supposed too but I've never looked back on it, the night I did that he slept 12 hours straight through the night and has done ever since.

I wouldn't like to go to sleep sleeping in a sleeping bag with no pillow would you?

My advice is don't think about it and just try it Wink

Thanks! I've not worried about 'the advice' about quilts. I'm more worried that he'll wriggle out from under it and then not work out how to pull it up.

I hate sleeping in sleeping bags. I am a wriggly sleeper too.
