Is it safe to leave dummy and comforter in crib at night

I worry! Is this safe and do babies like the dummy all night or just to get to sleep?!
I bought a comforter from next, soft blanket with little teddy. Do comforters have to be breathable by any safety standard?!

How old is your baby? There shouldn't be any loose bedding, toys etc could increase the risk of cot death.

I've always put loads of dummies in son's cot/bed :/ he's 2 and a half now, but has always had a tendency to wake us up if he can't find one so was easier putting loads in for him to find himself.

Am hoping to get him off the dummy soon though (easier said than done!! lol)

Thanks sat night, never heard of the loads of dummies approach!!

Little olive tree he's 13 weeks old. I had heard a no no to everything but then how do people use dummies and comforters to help get babies to sleep?!

Babies need to be soothed to sleep with a dummy each time they go to sleep in order to reduce the cot death risk. The risk actually goes up if you use a dummy inconsistently. There shouldn't be any loose bedding. It's just a case of teaching your baby to self soothe to sleep.

I don't know what the official advice is, but DD used to have as many as I could lay my hands on in the cot with her, so that she could easily find one to stuff back in again.
