Dd is 10 months and has been sleeping through (7 to7) since about 4 and a half months with a few blips here and there. But within the last week it has been so hard to get her to sleep. she has a bath at 5.30ish, a bottle then bed. tonight she would start to fall asleep then scream. she did this several times while i was holding her. i also tried putting her down in her cot to settle herself which she was good at but she would just start crying again sad The only way me and dh could calm her down and get her to sleep was to take her out in the pram around the block. But i cant do this every night as im back to work soon and will be doing shifts.
I'm easily stressed and im trying to keep calm but its really hard when she does this. I feel like a crap mum that cant calm her baby down sad
Its also worth saying she will not sleep in the day unless shes in her pram/push chair and has been like this from 3 months. so i walk. a lot.
feel bit better just writing that down. sorry for essay!

I could almost have written this post - DS is 10 months today and he is suddenly doing something very similar. Only difference is he has never been a great sleeper - has always woken often but always easy to get back to sleep. For the last week or so he is waking every couple of hours and then taking over an hour to settle. We are exhausted and getting really snappy with each other too, which is not nice.
Sorry I don't have any suggestions but I wanted to say I share your pain, and also interested to see what advice you get smile

Ds3 has been a poor sleeper for months, he's now 15 months. I haven't much advice, except that if movement helps you could try pacing around with her, rather than having to go out with pram. That's what dh does with him and it generally works. I refuse to do it, because i think its a bad habit, although I do try to rock him, but he goes to sleep for dh much better than he does for me. We also give him milk to settle him. All completely against the rules, but I'm working too and I just do what it takes to get him to go back to sleep!

I've been looking again at a wee book I got free with a magazine, Teach Yourself Baby Sleep, and I think as of tonight we're taking some advice from it to try and tackle the situation. Will post a link, the author has an updated version out.
