My 6mth DS has been weighed and has put on quite a bit of weight! He's has 3 meals a day and milk. He also likes 3 bottles a night. If I don't feed him, he goes bonkers. We've tried lots of things, please help!

Have you tried for maybe one of the feeds, giving him, say, 20ml less per couple of nights so eventually he weans himself off?

Yes, try gradually reducing the amount in one of the bottles. I'd start with the middle one. Do it slowly to start with, 1oz every few days or so, and hopefully you'll reduce it to 2 feeds overnight.

Try and up his milk during the day by the same amount.

If that works, try it with another one of thefeeds

He is only 6 months though (missed that bit) so its normal for him to be waking up this much I'm afraid.

It is a bit early to try night weaning IMO, it might be more successful if you wait a few more weeks.

How much milk does he have in 24 hours?

He usually has 7/8 x 160ml bottles! Shock

Has he dropped milk in the day too much due to having 3 meals and then trying to make up for it at night. If that is the case, make sure he has milk no more than an hour before his meals. If that is not the case then making the bottles a bit smaller might be the way to go. Does he rely on sucking on a bottle to get back to sleep? If so will he take a dummy?

Hi, no he still likes his milk during the day
Have tried dummies but he spits them out, maybe I will try again.
