Just after some idea as I'm not sure if sleep too much. Dh thinks I do Sad I'll kick things off, I normally try to get to bed for 10 and for a decent night and to wake up feeling normal awake at 8 and I'm fine. Recently been waking up at 6:30 for work, snoozing the alarm for an hour and feeling shattered all day. I am TTC so not sure if tiredness=pregnant?

On nights that my DD doesn't wake up for a drink I tend to get about 8 hrs. I could probably sleep more, but either my DD wakes me or my OH when he gets up for work.

About 5 hours in 3 chunks. Before DS I could happily sleep for 10 hours a night... :o

That's 5 hours in total, not 15 hours. 15 hours would be awesome...!

Hey and good luck with your ttc and if it helps i was HUGELY tired all the time when I was pregnant! Not sure if it's because of my epilepsy and the tablets I take but I am always tired and do tend to need at least 9 hours to function properly which can sometimes be hard with a lo but minimum i get is 6 hours on a bad day :)

About 7 - 7.5 hours most nights, but then I generally need a 'catch up' - either lie in, early night, or afternoon nap most weeks, so I don't think I get enough most nights.
When I'm tired though frequently and my diary will allow it infrequently I can happily sleep for about 14 hours.

I am like you OP and need sleep, but have always been that way. I survive on about 6-8 hours- any less and i am a monster- but would very happily sleep 10 hours straight. I once slept 18 hours after returning from a long haul flight. Tiredness is a sign o pregnancy though!

I sleep about four or five hours of broken sleep. I'm rarely in bed before midnight and always awake at 5am. I have awful insomnia though and haven't slept well since I was a teen so thirty years ago.

Wow we really are all different! I'm going to turn nocturnal once I do fall pregnant! I'll be sleeping right through the pregnancy haha GrinGrinGrin

I would like to sleep from 10-8. In reality I get about 6 broken hours.

DS wakes every morning at 6am, so I'm up then! Therefore I try to go to bed by 10 to get my 8 hours. I can cope on 6 for a few days, but I've always liked going to bed early. When he was a newborn and hideously awful at sleeping I regularly used to go to bed at 7.30pm when he did!

About 6 to 7 hours as I go to bed too late. Could probably do with about 8 I think.

When I was pregnant I crawled into bed at about 7:30 and slept for hours and hours...

I'm posting this from bed! Got in ten mins ago - bliss. But I'm pregnant (so so tired) and have an 11 month old (doesn't go well with the need for sleep) so I grab it whenever I can. 8-10 hours is my ideal Smile

About nine hours. But not unbroken sleep - up to the loo every night without fail!

About 7 hours. Kids are a bit older now and sleep very well.

About 8 hours and I'm good with that, but I never say no to a lie in!

I blame my under active thyroid for my love of sleep!

Report
Doshusallie · 02/04/2013 21:25

I go to bed between 10 and 10.30, and sleep until about 4am, when I go to the loo. I then lie awake until 6ish and then get about another hour's sleep. So about 7 hours I guess. Would love not to have the lying awake with brain in 4th gear bit.... [busad]

About 5 hours broken sleep here, got a non sleeping 13 month old who bed shares. Really need to get her in her own room so I can't hear her

6-7 hours. I need more sleep! Toddler disagrees as he's up at 6 every day. I hate going to bed too early as well. My sleep is shot since having a baby. The smallest noise wakes me up and then I can't go back to sleep.

I miss lie ins!

Report

About 7.5 hours, so good.

However, now I am up every day at 7ish with DC, so I sleep 11ish-7ish. This makes me far more tired than when I used to sleep 12-8. So it could just be the change to an earlier wake time that's make you feel rubbish?
