My nearly 2yo ds has always been a poor sleeper then after intervention of sleep dr got on track and bliss- 11hrs most nights
Then about 3 weeks ago on holiday was poorly and was in bed with us each night (away with other people only way people could get sleep)
Came home and got better, no probs sleeping again
I was away for a week with work again No probs for dh
Then 2 nights back and awful
Every night screaming terrified tantrums when left on cot, got in doing pupd and he clings to my hand like he's scared or fretful
When he does finally drop off (2 hours later or in our arms) its for only a couple of hrs till we're sane all over and I'm up for hours or until he comes into our bed again and goes straight to sleep
I'm pretty sure it will pass optimistic but is this usual?
He has a sore bottom at mo which I assume is molars coming through or switch to new nappy brand
Anyone any suggestions?
Thanks

My DD is just two and goes through phases of not wanting to be alone. Would he lie down if you stay in the room? I would try that and then do gradual withdrawal or the back in a minute routine which is what worked for us."I'm just going to the toilet, back in a minute" "just going to talk to daddy, back soon."

Or alternatively is it worth trying a bed?

Is he unwell?

Thanks both
Not unwell just seems anxious
I could try grad retreat but didn't wantcto give mixed messages after success of pupd last time
Will give that a go
Thanks

I'd give pain relief if he's teething.
