Big sudden change in sleep

DS is 14wo and from birth has spoiled us with being an incredibly good nighttime sleeper - 4 hour stretches as a new born, gradually increased to 8-9 straight thru the night by 9 weeks old. I realise we were extremely lucky. However, a 2 night stay in hospital 2 weeks ago has completely and utterly turned his sleep upside down. He's is now waking and screaming horrendously every 2 hours and can only be comforted by breast feeding. Before the hospital stay he used to suck his thumb to self soothe back to sleep if ever he woke but now won't do that (he did it alot, mostly in distress, while in hospital, perhaps he now associates it with that?) any tips or advice for reestablishing his old habits? In terms of his bedtime routine we are doing everything the same as before.

No tips or advice, sorry. But I could have written this exact post about 13 week DS2 (minus the hospital stay) this morning, thumb sucking and everything - why has he forgotten, grrr! I'm putting it down to growth spurt/sleep regression, and waiting for it to pass. Hang on in there, and if anyone else has advice I'd be grateful too Smile

I don't know if the hospital stay is coincidental timing with this change, or of he's having a growth spurt and is genuinely hungry every 2 hours through the night? His feeds in the daytime haven't changed too much though
