What bedding do you use when you move to a cot bed?

I brought DD a duvet but its rediculously big. The cot quilts that are readily available with matching bumper etc seam very thin. She has used sleeping bags until now but needs the next size.

What do you use?

We stuck with sleeping bags until DC were able to take them off - it helps ease the transition and they don't wake cold 1001 times a night having kicked the covers off. I think we had 3 sizes of sleeping bag from birth to quitting them.

you can get cotbed sized duvets if you find the single sized ones are too big.

Yy we used a proper cot sized quilt too, when the time came. Added an exra blanket on very cold nights.

Thank you. Now it seams obvious that cot bed duvets exist! My older two went into single beds from cots.

I do love sleeping bags but she's just a bit big for her upto 18 month ones, she's also mastered taking them off and i was being tight not wanting to buy a new set that may not be used for long.

I will follow your links and recomendations and see what end of sale sets i can find.

A good tip I picked up here is to use a standard single duvet but across the cot bed. This is good as you can tuck it in firmly at both sides to stop a small child falling out of bed (in theory anyway, DS always kicked his loose within minutes!)
Saves you buying two sets of bedding anyway.

We've got a sleeping bag that goes up 36 months! So if you like the sleeping bags, you can stick with them for a bit longer.

When we tried to change to normal bedding, my DS refused to use a duvet. (We had already taken the sides off, and converted to a bed).
We ended up spending a fortune on the Grobag bedding, which is like a cross between a duvet and a sleeping bag (the duvet is zipped onto the bottom sheet, so it doesn't slip off).
