Should/how do I stop my 4 month old from sleeping on his front?

DS is always put to sleep on his back. I woke in the middle of the night, and found he had rolled onto his front in his sleep. I turned him onto his back, and when we woke this morning, he was again on his front.

He has been sleeping on his side for the past week, so he is obviously moving around more in his sleep, and he is teething as well. He also has started rolling over this week.

Do I just keep turning him, or should I just leave him to it? I know they advise that babies need to sleep on their back for the first 6 months, but how do you enforce it? Thanks!

official advice from the sids website is this:

If your baby is less than six months old and you find him sleeping on his tummy, gently turn him onto his back. Don?t feel you need to keep getting up all night to check on this. Whatever your baby?s age, always place him to sleep on his back.

If they can roll then it's safe to leave them to sleep in any position they like - start them off on their backs and let them make their own way! Get ready for the cute positions
