Any advice for me and my 11 week old DS

Just looking for help really. DS is ebf and goes to bed after a bath and feed at 7pm he wakes at 10 ish and goes back to sleep until 2 or 3 after which he has a tiny feed of about 3 mins or so and then wakes every hour. I think he is using me as a human dummy as he can't self settle. I can't co sleep as it doesn't work for us, is there anything I can do to try and get him to sleep a bit longer. He is 11 weeks old and weighs over 13lb so a big boy!

It's very unusual for an 11 week old to be able to self-settle, unfortunately, so I can only offer empathy. Mine started being the same around 10/11 weeks and is still the same at 26 weeks.

My DD is FF and I have just posted in parenting as she sleeps from 6.30ish till midnight then feeds and sleeps till 4 but then feeds at 4, between5 and 6 then up at around 7.30. I posted asking about weaning but I guess it is different if EBF. DD is 11 weeks and has slept like this for the last 4 weeks or so

This "4am party" is a very common problem I think. A lot of babies either wake at 3/4am and are ready for the day, or wake hourly instead. Mine did both.

It will pass. Just keep the room as dark as possible, no talking/singing etc. He'll get the idea eventually.

Huge NO to weaning at 11 weeks sparkles but I have a feeling they'll say that in the parenting forum as well!

Are you sure he is awake? Babystar (9 weeks old) stirs at 2/3am and I was jumping up to feed as soon as I heard her. One night I didn't and she didn't waken - just spent 20 min farting Grin Since then I haven't fed her (just listened to the farting) and she has slept through till 5am consistently.

Elphaba, there were mixed suggestions but I rekon I will just go with the flow! I figure she will feed if she is hungry! I may try leaving her a few mins to see if she wakes up properly tho Smile

He's deffo awake, I leave him as long as possible and hope he'll somehow get himself back to sleep but after 5 mins or so of snuffly noises big screams start! 2 mins of boob later and he's asleep. Hmm

Go with it my DS2 is now nearly 18 weeks and was exactly the same they are just to tiny to self settle but it will get better. DS had colic and wind, then moved onto teething, there is so much going on at each stage something new is always around the corner to disturb there sleep, but before you know it they will be running around. enjoy the cuddles and get iplayer or a book try to relax. my lo currently napping in my arms....
