Hi everyone, any advice would be great at the moment as my 11 week old wont nap for no longer then 10 minutes meaning I cant get anything done and him been extremely grumpy and overtired.
I've tried white noise but just doesnt seem to make him go over anymore.

Thank you

Sleep deprivation is horrid...have you tried..
infacol...might be wind
going for a walk across bumpy ground
rocking sat up in bouncy chair/pushchair
Muslin draped over her/his face to block everything out
Dummy
Stroking down her/his nose...this encourages them to close their eyes.
Hair dryer, Hoover, bouncy chair next to washing machine

Good luck x

My baby was like this. It dead horrible as she was so, so tired all the time.

The only thing that helped me was Elizabeth Pantley's 'No Cry Nap Solution'. I'd highly recommend it. It's full of practical tips to get your LO to nap.

Have you tried a sling? I found it useful for giving baby a big sleep which would then make later naps in the days easier. Was the only way I got any housework done with my eldest!

My daughter would only nap on us (still does at 8 months). She would fall asleep at that age while breast-feeding or if she got really grumpy we would walk around the house with her in the carrier.

I found an excellent technique to get her to go to sleep. You rock back and forth with the baby holding them snuggly or in a swaddle and tap their back to the rhythum of a heart beat. Also gentle slow bouncing worked well. Going shhhh in the ear softly helps too. It takes them back to the womb. I could never do a proper swaddle, so cheated and bought a swaddle blanket. It was a god send for a few months.

As to how to get them to go to sleep in the cot for naps, I never mastered that and am still wondering..... Actually I think sod it. My DD is so adorable and will never be this age again, it is lovely that she sleeps on us for naps and it means we have a great excuse for watching rubbish daytime tv. (Obviously am a mother of one and not working blush)
