Sleep

Toddler not staying under duvet

I have a three year old who won't stay under the duvet.

The duvet doesn't move, it's just the way she moves around, she ends up on top of the duvet.

I don't want to put her in a sleeping bag as her sister sleeps on the bed next other and she crawls over to her bed sometimes and I don't want her falling over in it.

Any idea? I considers the duvet clips but as the duvet remains in place I discounted those.

Thanks

I'm not sure what you can do to be honest. I would say that it took my DD about 4 months to get used to sleeping under the duvet and most of that was in the summer. We just dressed her up warmly in layers so she wasn't cold.

does she wake up cold? Put her in cosy pj's with bed socks and then it doesnt matter if she gets out of her duvet

Yes she does wake up cold.

I was thinking of getting her one of those sleep sacks, but am not sure.

She been under a duvet for a year now and she really not used to it, thought she would be by now!!!

does she find it heavy? What tog are you using? Maybe she would prefer a lighterweight one if you are using a high tog. What about those fleece all in ones?

I'm 22 and I still can't sleep under a duvet - I wriggle and end up outside of it. I use a fleecy blanket - for some reason I can stay under that, even if the duvet comes off.

Also OH pulls the duvet back over me which is quite cute!

Have exactly the same problem so will watching with interest!
Have also put DS in a fleece sleepsuit over his PJ's (with bed socks under!)

Fleecy onesie? My children do the same but wake up and get under the blanket when they get cold.

Ds does this and we put him in socks and a cardigan on top of his PJs or in a fleecy all-in-one suit so he's fully covered even without his duvet.

We also put waffle blankets on top of his duvet in the hope he stays under a blanket even if he moves away from the duvet.

I always check on him if I go to the loo in the night to put his duvet back if he's moved it.

my dc are/were the same at that age.
wrapping up warm helps. dc (nearly 3) wears tights, socks, vest and turtleneck under the pj's.
